First, congratulations on being elected America’s 44th President. Please excuse the group letter but we just wanted to add our voices in wishing you the best as you undertake this awesome responsibility. We think you will do great. Hope so, anyway.

But.

No one has called us. Even though we put the word out months ago that we were ready to serve. We know things move slowly there, but we can help. We build things….good grief, man, look at what Steve-O has done with both Apple and Pixar. He’s a little sick now, but he is coming back. Then Mark, he’s been relegated to the bench somewhere…think he is ready to help tackle government inefficiency and waste? He’s ready, and says he has a few ideas.

Then take Sergei….please. (old joke). He googlized the entire world in what, ten years? We have been talking about social security issues since when again? There are some old and familiar names here and not to brag, but have you ever just been in the same room as Bill when he starts talking about what computers can do for all of us? Notwithstanding Vista, at least he is making things happen…in a big way. Not a bad model for you….try, adjust, fix, move on. Just do it fast.

Jeff, Richard, Meg, Scott, Andy, all of us, ready to pitch in. Trust us when we say this, we don’t normally do ‘government.’ But we have learned some things out here that Harry and Nancy and John–bless their collective hearts, just don’t “get.” You understand the concept of ‘getting it’ we know you do. You didn’t get us with “Hello,” you got us with you being on your Blackberry and Twittering.

Basically, we think you are a pretty inspiring guy and trust us, we know inspiring when we see it. But after the meeting and the election, someone has to do the work. It takes some serious brainpower. Give us a call, get us in the same room, and parade Leon, HIllary, Tom “Is that a stick up my butt” Dascle in front of us with their biggest issues, and give us a week or two to come up with something. Oh, we are really looking forward to meeting with Paul V. and that new Treasury guy. We have some ideas already there and they won’t cost billions either.

One more thing: Don’t tell anyone we suggested this. And, some are going to be upset they are not on the list, like Ellison and the Donald. Let’s just keep it quiet. Between us.

Yours sincerely, Ready to serve, something’s got to change,

Jeff Bezos

Mark Cuban

Bill Gates

Steve Jobs

Andy Grove

Meg Whitman

Sergei Google (small joke, just google ‘Sergei’ for address)

Scott Adams

Richard Branson (we know he’s English, so what?)

PS: Thursday, Jan 22nd looks good for all of us. Your House?

Ed. Note: Who would you like to have in the meeting and why?
