Note: We have now heard that baseball and softball will not be in the 2012 Olympics. What we have not heard about are the sports that will be included:

New Olympic Sports for Summer, 2012.

1. WII. Competitors compete against one another, individually and in teams, in the Mario Olympics. Granted, it is not all that athletic, but the facial expressions of the participants will make for great TV.

2. Lawn Darts. Note to Olympic committee–do not allow the Cuban kickboxer, who kicked the referee in the face after being disqualified, to transfer to this new sport!

3. Race walking. You know–those people you see at the park who are walking funny with their IPods and funny arm movements–walk fast around a track. Oh wait…that is already in the Olympics, sans IPods. My bad.

4. Text Speed Messaging. This narrowly beat out Air Guitar. I still want to see the 17-year old kid from Rochester, MN, who is getting endorsement deals because he is the Air Guitar champ with his 4,000 finger movements in like three minutes. But more people know how to text message than play air guitar, so it will have more viewers.

5. Segway Obstacle Course Driving. Seriously, can you imagine anything more fun? Plus it would be good for America, since Segway needs the PR. I could be on that team.

Answer: Air Hockey is NOT a sport. Yet.
