This reminds me of the time when a cousin and I found a nest of baby coyotes in the barn. It was when we brought them inside to show my mom that we found out they were really just mice. She didn’t think they were as cute and cuddly as we did.

Here’s to innocence in a barnyard—where cousins are as close as brothers—
What I wouldn’t give for one more day of playing next to the tool shed in the old metal pile.
My imagination there was limitless—
GL, watching those little girls play might end up as a rather stinky proposition!
I can just about picture the scene when you showed your mother the mice. Did she jump on the table?
Mike…isn’t that the truth. Robyn…I don’t remember that part, but I don’t think so. They weren’t running around, if they had been, I am sure she would have. You are not afraid of baby coyotes, er, mice, are you?
Baby skunks don’t have the capacity to get even with you for a few months. Don’t even ask how I know this. We’ve had an outbreak of Canine Distemper in our area killing skunks and other small critters and I can’t say I’m too sorry about it.
Mad…nope, not going to ask how you would happen to know THAT. You know what they say, ‘when you get into a fight with a skunk, you never know who started it.’ They best be studied from afar, my two cents.
Oh, wow, wow! I remember we had a baby skunk as a pet for a while, when I was a child. This was all fine and good until he became a teenager. : )
I’d be far more concerned about Mrs. Skunk showing up to protect her babies than about the babies’ potential to cause olfactory disagreeableness! Yikes.
No kidding, Julie. Unless Mr. Skunk is still in the picture…either way, this could really develop into a stinkfest.
oh but they’re so cute!
I picked up a whole pocket full of marbles I found one winter … in the bushes… they were all brown…. mom told me we had to flush them… that what you do with Rabbit poo….
