Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin’.
Please get out of the new one
If you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’.
—Bob Dylan, “The Times They Are A-Changing,” 1963
Tomorrow one of our lead web developers/programmers is having a birthday. She’s turning 21.
Twenty-one. You will be glad to hear that she seems older, having graduated from college three years ago.
I asked her boss, boy-genius guy, age 24, how it was to manage her,–’any generational issues?” I asked. He said there were, but mostly around how she was better at using her cell phone during work than he was, keeping her personal calls to a minimum.
Happy Birthday, K.
