I spent some time this week in Memphis, Tennessee, and drove by but didn’t go in, Graceland. It looks pretty much the same as it must have when Elvis and Priscilla lived there. What is stiking about it mostly, is how small it is. It is not much bigger than a small town rambler set in the middle of about ten acres. I have even been to his birthplace in Tupola, Mississippi. Visiting both these places should inspire almost anyone…for it is proof positive that circumstances of your birth or upbringing do not dictate your future. I have seen walk-in closets bigger than Elvis’ house in Mississippi.

And then, while killing time in the Memphis airport I witnessed Fred Smith’s dream, and subject of his near-failing term paper, FEDEX. There must have been twenty-plus FEDEX planes taking off like a modern day Berlin Airlift, one after the after, -whoosh, -whoosh, -whoosh. Awesome.

As Elvis said…Thankyouverymuch,passthepeanutbutter.
