After years of observing people at work, I have concluded there are people who can find work and those who can’t.

People who find work never seem to have enough time to do all that they know they can do. They are positive, great role models and mentors, and are engaged at work. They seem to care more.

People who can’t find work wait for others to tell them exactly what to do. And, then they are surprised at their lack of upward mobility…”Sheesh,” they say, “I did everything they asked me to do.” The days of waiting to be told what to do are over.

At the Jobdig building, there is a maintenance guy, Steve. Talk about finding work, Steve can. I don’t think he sits down all day long. He is re-planting flowers, moving boulders outside, mopping the hallways, and building new walls for tenants. I know his boss and I am quite sure he does not even think about giving our Steve a list of projects to do. Steve knows. Even better, he always has a cheerful disposition and greets everyone with a good word and a smile—he is a sunshine pump where you might least expect it.

We need more Steve’s.  What’s the third thing?  A constant smile.  See above.
