Often, we need others to push us toward our goals. Even if it’s a ‘Hey, how are you doing with that winning the lottery thing?’ comment…sharing your goals with family and friends is an important step toward reaching them.
I have found that people seem to love to hear other’s big hairy goals even more. How do you know when you have a big hairy goal? If you tell someone and they laugh, then the goal is big enough. What is your big hairy goal?
Remember my unspoken goal of catching for the Yankees? One of my high school best friends, who now lives in California!!!, was thoughtful enough to send me a simple note about it. It must be big enough….thanks Conrad!

Hey, GL, this is a good one! It’s true that sharing your goals make them more “real” somehow. Especially telling someone who is something of an encourager in your life. Now you’ve got a person thinking about them, even when you’re not!
Besides, you may want something hilarious to laugh about over coffee. My own favorite “out there” goal: be a “spaceman”. Who knows, maybe one day?
After seeing that getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is all about the money, I now have a new ‘out there’ goal.
