Shessh. Really, think about this a bit, will ‘ya?
I get an email, nicely done and all, the candidate seems fairly accomplished so I read his resume. It is ok, nothing brilliant, but not bad. So I click on his resume, which is titled currentresume.doc. I will lose this resume in my pile of stuff. There is NO chance that I will remember this person.
Why not make your .doc instead say something like Sam Smith, SalesPro.doc.Â
Be a bit helpful all ye jobseekers.

I recently heard a story about a bright young lady, recently graduated from Columbia’s MBA program, who was trying (to no avail) to get an audience with a globe-trotting executive at a large consumer electronics retailer.
She decided to get creative. She was at a book store where Jack Welch was going to be appearing doing a book signing. The young lady purchased Jack’s latest book and patiently stood in line to get her book signed. When it came to her turn, she had the booked signed and then promptly delivered the book, via FedEx, to the busy executive.
What’s so special about that you might ask? Well, when the busy executive opened the book, there was Jack’s handwriting all right. It said “Ken, Hire Katie. She’s great. Regards, Jack Welch”
Katie got the job.
