There is a lot of talk in HR circles about job candidates who now have to prove their capabilities to do the work, actually in a current job setting.

With the de-valuation of the resume by all the resume systems out there (WE WILL SEND YOUR RESUME OUT TO 1 MILLION COMPANIES!!!!), it should not surprise any job seeker that companies are looking for another method to measure candidates.  Plus, most of the resumes are now so inflated to be nearly worthless. 

 Companies want to make sure that the candidate can do the job.  So, they are asking candidates to do projects to see how well qualified they are, if they can become part of the team and so on.
