While I have always liked to quote John Paul Getty’s success formula,
Rise early,
Work hard,
Strike oil,
it strikes me as being too wordy. I have a new favorite word that sums up success, or what causes it.

"I am having fun here, sharing stories of what I have learned after some 25 years of doing startups, with maybe some observations about the workplace, culture and other things that interest or amuse me,...and hopefully, you."

I dont think you can establish a univeral formula for success. Different formulas, for different people. According to my limited experience, the closes rule to success I can think of, is… work only with professionals. Dont deal with amateurs. Saves time, saves money. Always. Nomatter what you do, only work with professionals in their field of work. I tried so many times to save money, by choosing the less walked road, and using amateurs instead of professionals, and I ended up with more money spent, and projects poorly done.
Any way for us we have a saying that cheap things are costly and shortcuts are the longest routes.
There fore your experience in using amateurs instead of professionals is on way to show how cheap things are costly.
Thanks
