There are no small jobs. Each job can be exciting, fulfilling and rewarding. Many times it is how you view your job that counts.

Some people see their job in a completely different light than anyone else. We all have seen the receptionist who takes it upon herself to be the best possible receptionist, greeting everyone with enormous goodwill. Everyone in the company understands and appreciates her role and considers the job and HER an important factor in their success.

I am reminded of the old story about the mother who was picking up her 7 year old from school. That day, the teacher was going to pick the kids who were to be in the class play and this mother was nervous that her son would not get picked. If he wasn’t picked, what would happen to his self-confidence? The little boy bounced out of the school, with a big grin on his face, and said guess what, Mom? I have been picked to clap and cheer.

Even if you are not chosen to be in a lead role, you can always be a positive supporter. I imagine you will earn your spot in the future.
