The Reverse Applicant Tracking System
A few months ago, I was able to attend a seminar presented by Jason Alba which was entitled Social Tools and Technologies for Recruiters. The seminar itself was great. It covered topics on Facebook, Twitter and blogs to help recruiters get in touch with job seekers to develop a social networking strategy. Jason draws on his own experiences and struggles with finding a job and working with recruiters. One of his struggles involved managing all of the positions he applied for, what resumes he used and the contacts he had made. Having a strong software background, he decided to develop an application that would help him organize the efforts of his job search.
Today, Jason’s application, JibberJobber, is available to everyone interested in taking their career management to a new level with what can be described as an applicant tracking system (ATS) in reverse. If you have a few minutes, I would certainly suggest reviewing it for yourself. I would also recommend attending one of Jason’s speeches or workshops.
