Even NASCAR Is Feeling The Ad Downturn

I heard a good story last night (it was actually an AdAge video podcast from a week or so ago) about the fact that even advertising behemoth NASCAR is feeling the impact of the current economy. Of the 42 teams on the circuit, 12 do not have a primary advertising sponsor, and many more have lost secondary and smaller advertising partners. Interestingly, the cost to be a primary NASCAR sponsor and get your corporate logo plastered on the side of a car, is approximately $18 million per year.
