Dailys can definitely play a role as a social commentator like Slate.com. I am working for a weekly local paper in Glebe in Australia and we cover some great community topics that woul be a shame to lose. I know that adds are what pays the journalists salaries so they are intergral. At the moment 65% of the paper needs to be ads every week I agree.
