If it is true that Europe often sets media trends that eventually filter across the Atlantic, daily papers in the U.S. are in for an even rougher future than anyone is imagining today. According to a recent Harris poll, only 6% of adults in Britain read a major daily paper. The poll surveyed adults in 5 European countries and the U.S. about where they obtained their news and information. Spain and German y came in with the highest percentage of newspaper readers at 13%. TV network news was the highest source of news and information in every country.
