[...] Hat-tip to Toby Dayton for this post on his Diggings blog: Monster and Adicio announced today that they had formed a partnership whereby Adicio’s daily newspaper clients can upsell their advertisers’ job listings on Monster. Clearly, the deal makes sense for both Monster and Adicio. Monster gains access to hundreds of newspaper company sites and print publications, while Adicio continues to add functionality to their classified service offering. Holding the short end of the stick are the newspaper companies who opt into the Monster network and cede more ground in the classified space. It will be interesting to watch how many Adicio clients choose to do so, though given the pathetic condition of the daily newspapers today I won’t be surprised if many do. Faring even worse will be the employer advertisers who naively believe that buying an extra, upsold ad on Monster will do anything to help improve the effectiveness of their recruitment advertising.
[...] Say it isn’t so…. Can a bad situation get worse for Las Vegas employers?Yesterday, Adicio, who powers the Las Vegas Review Journal’s employment section made an announcement about their partnership with Monster.com. This is another move in the race for the big three (Monster, CareerBuilder and HotJobs) to partner with a dying medium….daily newspaper. Why the partnership? It gives access to the largest sales team maintaining established relationships with local employers. Who wins? Surely not the employers. There was a great blog post about the love-hate relationship at Diggings.com. A partnership like this would only add to the muddy waters that exist in the recruitment advertising landscape of Las Vegas. Here is yesterday’s press release: Monster and Adicio Form Strategic Recruitment Services Alliance Relationship Enables Adicio to Offer Monster’s Industry-Leading Recruitment Services to 250+ Media Partners Nationwide Monster [...]
